Hyalase

What is this treatment?

Hyalase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. When injected into an area where filler has been placed, the filler gradually dissolves and is absorbed by the body over about 24–48 hours. [Cases where Hyalase may not dissolve filler effectively] 1. When the filler has formed hardened tissue 2. When the filler is not hyaluronic acid-based 3. When bacterial infection or granuloma has developed

Q&A

Q.

Can it be completely removed in a single session?

Seeing filler remain may make you wonder whether something went wrong. Depending on the dose of hyaluronidase and how firm the area has become through fibrosis, complete removal in one session can be difficult. A repeat procedure is possible, and we recommend it after a thorough consultation with our medical staff.

Q.

After dissolving filler, when can filler be injected again?

Even after the filler fully breaks down, it takes about three to five days for the injected hyaluronidase to clear. If hyaluronidase remains in the skin when filler is injected, it can dissolve the newly injected filler and affect the result, so if you plan to have filler again, it is best to wait at least seven days after the hyaluronidase injection.

What should I keep in mind?

warning

Please read the precautions carefully and follow them closely.

-

You may wash your face and apply makeup 1 hour after the treatment. Please remove the DuoDERM dressing on the treated area after 1–3 days.

-

For 3–7 days after the treatment, please avoid heavy drinking, smoking, saunas and steam rooms, hot baths, and strenuous exercise to prevent inflammation.

-

As an injectable treatment, bruising, swelling, pain, or a foreign-body sensation may occur depending on your skin condition, but these usually resolve within 1–2 weeks.

-

Due to the nature of the solution, a red, swollen allergic reaction may occur; a cold compress helps. However, if you have difficulty breathing, please go to the emergency room.
