Rejuran side effects: which reactions are common, and when should you contact us?

The most common Rejuran side effects are bumps that rise at the injection sites, small bruises, and swelling, most of which subside within a few days to 1–2 weeks. Rarely, infection, allergic reactions, or palpable nodules can occur, so if swelling and pain grow over time or warmth develops, an examination is needed.
Common reactions after Rejuran
- Injection marks and bumps (raised, uneven marks) usually settle naturally within 1–3 days.
- Bruising and swelling may occur depending on skin condition and usually fade within 1–2 weeks.
- Right after treatment, redness, tightness, and stinging may last from a few hours to about a day.
In areas with thin skin, such as around the eyes, bruising and swelling may be visible longer, and bruising can be darker if you are taking blood-thinning medications or supplements or drink alcohol before or after treatment. The degree and duration of reactions vary from person to person.
Rejuran side effects: what signs mean you should contact us?
If the injection site becomes more swollen, red, hot, and painful over time, or if pus or fluid comes out, infection may be suspected. Widespread itching, spreading hives, or swelling of the face and lips within a few hours of treatment may be an allergic reaction, and if you have trouble breathing, you should seek emergency care immediately. Nodules, which are firm lumps that can still be felt after several weeks, are uncommon, but if they occur, the cause is determined through an examination.
The PN in Rejuran is a substance extracted from salmon, so if you are allergic to fish or salmon ingredients, be sure to tell us before treatment. Please also discuss it with us in advance if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have inflammation in the treatment area, have an autoimmune disease, or are taking immune-modulating medication.
Avoiding heavy drinking, smoking, saunas, and strenuous exercise for 3–7 days after treatment and not rubbing the treated area helps reduce reactions. At our Suwon clinic, we advise waiting 2–3 hours after treatment before washing your face and applying makeup.

FAQ
Q. Is it okay if Rejuran bumps are still there after 3 days?
A. Bumps usually settle within 1–3 days, but they may last a little longer in thin-skinned areas or spots where more product was injected. If they are gradually getting smaller without redness or pain, keep an eye on them, and if they get bigger or harder instead, have an examination.
Q. What should I do if a nodule forms as a Rejuran side effect?
A. If a lump you can feel stays the same or gets bigger after several weeks, the cause is first determined through an examination. Whether to watch it or treat it depends on whether it is product that did not spread evenly or whether inflammation has developed with it.
Q. Can I get Rejuran if I have a fish allergy?
A. The PN in Rejuran is purified from salmon, so if you have a fish allergy, be sure to tell us before treatment. We decide whether to proceed after checking the type and severity of the allergy, and we may also consider a skin booster with different ingredients.
