Rejuran downtime: how many days do the bumps and redness last?

Rejuran downtime: how many days do the bumps and redness last?

Rejuran downtime refers to the period during which the small raised bumps at the injection sites (called embossing), needle marks, and redness settle, and it usually lasts about 1 to 3 days. If bruising occurs, it can take up to one to two weeks to fade, so if you have an important event, schedule your treatment with that much margin. The length of downtime depends on the number and depth of injections, skin thickness, and how easily you bruise.

Why does Rejuran downtime happen?

Rejuran is a skin booster that delivers PN (polynucleotide) into the dermis in many small portions. Because the viscous product stays in the shallow layers of the skin, a small bump forms at each injection site, and this is what is called embossing.

Each needle entry point leaves a tiny wound and redness, and bruises form where small blood vessels were touched. The more injections there are, as with full-face treatment, the more widely these marks show.

Rejuran downtime: from the next day to the first week

  • On the day of treatment, the bumps, needle marks, and redness are most noticeable.
  • By the next day, the bumps have largely settled and the needle marks remain only as small dots.
  • By the second or third day, most of the bumps and injection marks settle naturally.
  • Bruised areas turn yellowish and fade over one to two weeks.

At FACE FILTER Clinic Suwon, we advise that you can wash your face and apply makeup 2 to 3 hours after Rejuran Healer, and from the next day after Rejuran HB+.

Aftercare and precautions after Rejuran

For 3 to 7 days after treatment, avoid heavy drinking, smoking, saunas and jjimjilbang (Korean spas), hot baths, and strenuous exercise. Do not rub or massage the treated area hard, and keep up with moisturizing and sun protection. Pressing the bumps with your fingers to make them go down faster can increase bruising and redness.

If you are allergic to salmon or fish, please let us know before treatment. If redness and warmth keep spreading after several days or pus forms at an injection site, please contact the clinic.

FAQ

Q. Can I go to work the day after Rejuran?

A. By the next day the bumps have largely settled and the needle marks remain only as small dots, so it generally does not interfere much with going to work. Bruised areas may stay visible for a few more days, so it is best to cover them with makeup or leave some room in your schedule.

Q. Is there a way to shorten Rejuran downtime?

A. Cut back on alcohol for a few days before treatment, and if you take medications or supplements that make you bruise easily, please let us know in advance. After treatment, not rubbing the injection sites and avoiding heat can help keep redness and bruising from lasting long.

Q. Is the downtime for Rejuran HB+ similar?

A. Rejuran HB+ is a product that also contains hyaluronic acid and the anesthetic lidocaine. Bumps from the product usually settle within 2 to 3 hours but may last 1 to 2 days depending on your skin condition, and you can wash your face and apply makeup from the next day.
