Re2O hADM and ECM: How Does Donated Dermis Become a Product?

Re2O is an hADM product made from human dermis donated with consent: the cellular components are removed, and the remaining extracellular matrix (ECM) is processed into fine particles that can be injected.
Unlike skin boosters that stimulate collagen production, it works by placing the dermal components themselves, such as collagen and elastin, into the dermis. Because it is derived from human tissue, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety regulates it as a human tissue product rather than a medical device, and records are kept at every stage from donation through processing, distribution and use.
What hADM and ECM Mean
- hADM: Short for human acellular dermal matrix, known in Korean as acellular allogeneic dermis. It has long been used in sheet form as a material for reconstructive surgery.
- Allogeneic: The tissue is donated not from your own body but from another person of the same species.
- Acellular: The cellular components that could trigger an immune response have been removed.
- ECM (extracellular matrix): The supporting structure of the skin that remains once the cells are removed. It is a network of components such as collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid, proteoglycans and fibronectin; collagen is only one of these and does not refer to the ECM as a whole.
How Donated Dermis Becomes Re2O
- Donor consent: Only dermis from donors who consented to cosmetic use is used as raw material.
- Screening and traceability: Each donor is managed under a single lot number, so if an issue arises, the tissue can be traced back to the specific donor.
- Decellularization: The cells are removed while ECM structures such as collagen and elastin are preserved.
- Particle processing: Only the form of the dermal tissue is changed, turning it into fine particles that can be injected. It remains human dermis in origin.
- Packaging and records: Published research states that every step, from tissue procurement through processing and packaging, was carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB).

Recommended Combinations by Skin Concern
1. Thinning skin with reduced firmness
- Recommended product: Re2O 5cc
- Recommended interval: every 3–4 weeks (about 1 month)
- Recommended number of sessions: 2–3 or more, followed by maintenance every 6–12 months
- Note: Changes in skin texture and firmness appear gradually over 1–2 weeks.
2. Fine lines and pores accompanied by reduced skin density
- Recommended product: Re2O 5cc

- Recommended option: Re2O 3 syringes for the full face and neck, including neck Skin Botox
4. If you would like to refine skin texture after lifting or laser treatments

Treatment process
During consultation, we assess your skin condition, dermal thickness, and treatment areas, then apply topical anesthetic to the treatment area. Once the anesthetic takes effect, the ECM ingredients are evenly injected into the dermis. After soothing care, we explain aftercare such as moisturizing and sun protection.

Precautions on the Day of Treatment (The Most Important 24 Hours)
- Temporary swelling or tightness may occur at the injection sites, and redness or bruising may appear depending on your skin condition.
- After soothing care, begin the moisturizing and sun protection you were advised on that same day.
What to Avoid for One Week
- Saunas, jjimjilbang (Korean bathhouses), and strenuous exercise
- Alcohol and smoking
Aftercare
- Mild swelling and tightness usually subside within 2–7 days; continue moisturizing and sun protection throughout recovery.
- Please let us know before treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if there is any infection or inflammation in the treatment area. Please also tell us about any allergies, as well as the areas and timing of previous injectable treatments.
- If swelling and redness worsen day by day, or if warmth and pain increase, please contact us right away.
