How long do Rituo results last: when do they appear and how long do they continue?

The duration of Rituo results is viewed in two parts. Changes in skin texture and firmness appear gradually over 1 to 2 weeks after treatment, and after completing 2 to 3 sessions at 3- to 4-week intervals, maintenance treatment continues on a 6- to 12-month cycle depending on skin condition. How long results last depends on dermal thickness, the degree of aging, and lifestyle habits.

Rituo results: how long do they last, and when do changes start to appear?

Rituo (Re2O) is a skin booster that directly replenishes the dermis with extracellular matrix (ECM) derived from acellular allogeneic dermis. Unlike approaches that only stimulate the skin to make new collagen, it replenishes the very components that make up the dermis, such as collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.

Right after treatment there is slight swelling and tightness, which usually subsides within 2 to 7 days. Once the swelling goes down, changes in skin texture and elasticity gradually begin to show over 1 to 2 weeks. It is more accurate to assess the change as sessions accumulate rather than judging from the first session alone.

How long do Rituo results last?

At our Suwon clinic, Rituo is done 2 to 3 or more times at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks, about one month apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months depending on skin condition. The expected results and appropriate number of sessions are decided after examining your skin condition and degree of aging.

The factors that determine how long the results last are how thin the dermis has become, whether there is UV damage or smoking, and whether there have been large changes in body weight. Skin with a markedly thinned dermis may need more sessions, and consistent sun protection and moisturizing may help the changes last.

Care and precautions after Rituo

For about one week after treatment, avoid saunas, jjimjilbang (Korean bathhouses), and strenuous exercise, and also refrain from drinking and smoking for one week. Moisturize and use sun protection thoroughly, and do not rub the treated area hard.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have an infection or inflammation in the treatment area, a consultation is essential before treatment. If swelling and tightness do not decrease after a week, or if redness and warmth increase, please contact the clinic.

FAQ

Q. Are Rituo results similar even with just one session?

A. You can see changes in skin texture even after one session, but because the amount filling the dermis is small, the results may feel shorter-lived. We use 2 to 3 or more sessions at one-month intervals as the baseline and decide the next plan while checking the changes after each session.

Q. Do Rituo and Rejuran differ in how long their results last?

A. They work differently, so it is hard to compare them by the same standard. Rituo directly replenishes dermal components, while Rejuran supports the skin's recovery environment with PN. We look at your skin concerns and dermal thickness and decide together in consultation which one suits you.

Q. When should I get Rituo maintenance treatments?

A. After completing your sessions, maintenance treatments are done every 6 to 12 months depending on skin condition. Rather than a fixed date, use the point at which skin texture and elasticity start to decline again as your guide, and decide the timing by comparing with your initial photos.
