ONDA lifting precautions: what should you follow before and after treatment?

ONDA lifting precautions: what should you follow before and after treatment?

The key ONDA lifting precaution is to avoid applying heat to the body, drinking, and smoking for one week after treatment. ONDA is a device that generates heat in the subcutaneous fat layer and dermis with microwaves, so additional heat and irritation must be reduced while the heated skin recovers so that swelling and redness do not last long. Before treatment, you must tell us about any metal implants in your face and whether you are pregnant.

ONDA lifting precautions: conditions to tell us before treatment

ONDA is a device that uses 2.45GHz microwave energy. If you have metal implants or threads containing metal in your face, or an implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker, whether the treatment is possible must be checked first. Please also let us know in advance if you are pregnant or have inflammation or wounds in the treatment area.

If you have relatively little facial fat, please mention that during consultation as well. At our Suwon clinic, after checking skin thickness, fat distribution, and degree of sagging in consultation, we use the 3mm handpiece for the dermal layer and the 7mm handpiece for the subcutaneous fat layer separately, and the treatment is done without anesthesia.

What do you feel during ONDA lifting?

The handpiece's cooling function lowers the epidermal temperature during treatment, so you mainly feel a warm sensation. When a deep setting is used under the chin where fat is thick, the hot sensation may momentarily become stronger. If it becomes unbearably hot, tell us immediately so we can adjust the energy, which also helps prevent surface burns.

ONDA lifting precautions: the week after treatment

For about a week, avoid activities that heat the body, such as saunas and jjimjilbang, hot baths, and strenuous exercise. Because they can interfere with skin recovery and collagen regeneration, it is best to abstain from alcohol and smoking for about one week.

Heated skin temporarily becomes dry, so apply plenty of moisturizing cream and repair cream, and apply sunscreen thoroughly when going out. On the day of treatment and for a few days, do not rub your skin hard; take a break from scrubs and deep-cleansing products and wash your face gently with lukewarm water.

If redness and swelling do not decrease after several days, blisters or hardened areas appear on the skin, or the pain gradually increases, please contact the clinic.

FAQ

Q. Can I wear makeup on the day of ONDA lifting?

A. With ONDA you can return to daily life right after treatment, so light makeup is fine. However, on the day and for a few days, do not rub your skin hard, and when removing makeup, avoid deep-cleansing products and wash gently with lukewarm water.

Q. When can I drink alcohol after ONDA lifting?

A. It is best to abstain from alcohol for about one week. This is because alcohol dilates blood vessels and can make swelling and redness last longer, and can also strain skin recovery and collagen regeneration. Please take a break from smoking for the same period as well.

Q. When can I resume exercise after ONDA lifting?

A. The guideline is to take about a week off from strenuous exercise that makes you sweat heavily. Light walking is fine, but please also avoid exercise that raises body heat, saunas, and hot baths for the same period. After sweating, rinse gently with lukewarm water.
