Juvelook Volume pain: how much does it hurt, and how many days does it last after treatment?

Juvelook Volume pain is a combination of a heavy sense of pressure from injecting the product into deep layers to fill hollow areas and the sting of the needle or cannula going in. Numbing cream is applied first to reduce surface stinging, but in the nasolabial folds and front cheeks, where more product is injected, you may also feel some soreness. After treatment, a lumpy feeling, pain, and a foreign-body sensation may last from several days to one or two weeks.
Why does Juvelook Volume pain occur?
Juvelook Volume has the same PDLLA and hyaluronic acid ingredients as Juvelook, but with larger particles, and it is injected deep into the tissue at a higher concentration to create volume. The sense of pressure from the tissue opening up as it enters the deep layers makes up a large part of the pain.
In areas where more product is injected, such as the nasolabial folds, front cheeks, and temples, the pressure lasts longer, and you feel more soreness near the bone. The deeper the hollowing, the more injection points are needed, so the stinging is also repeated.
Ways to reduce Juvelook Volume pain
At FACE FILTER Clinic Suwon, Juvelook Volume is performed after a personalized consultation and pre-treatment photos, with 20 to 40 minutes of numbing cream, followed by design and disinfection and about 15 to 30 minutes of treatment.
- Using a blunt-tipped cannula reduces the number of needle entry points, which may help reduce stinging and bruising.
- Injecting slowly in portions can reduce the pressure from the tissue suddenly opening up.
- If the pain becomes severe during treatment, tell us right away and we will adjust the speed and order.
Pain and massage after Juvelook Volume treatment
After treatment, bruising, swelling, pain, or a foreign-body sensation may occur, but these mostly settle within one to two weeks, and swelling decreases within a few days. To prevent a lumpy feeling, gently massage for about 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for at least 5 days after treatment. For 2 to 3 weeks, avoid putting pressure on the treated area, such as sleeping face down or wearing a tight hat; you can wash your face and apply makeup from 2 to 3 hours after treatment, and remove the attached DuoDERM after 3 days.
If the pain keeps getting worse, your skin color turns white or purplish, or your vision becomes blurry, a blood vessel may be blocked, so please contact the clinic right away.

FAQ
Q. Do I have to do the Juvelook Volume massage even if it hurts?
A. Massage is a process that keeps the product from clumping in one place, so do it gently for about 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for at least 5 days after treatment. There is no need to press hard, and if it hurts too much to press or the swelling gets worse, contact the clinic to check the method.
Q. Is it okay if Juvelook Volume pain lasts more than a week?
A. Soreness and a foreign-body sensation at the injection sites can last one to two weeks. If the pain grows day by day, or redness and warmth spread along with it, it may be an infection, so it is best to have it checked at a consultation. In the meantime, continue the massage you were instructed to do, but do not press hard on the painful area.
Q. Can I receive Juvelook Volume with numbing cream alone?
A. In most cases, the treatment is done after numbing cream reduces surface stinging. The pressure in the deep layers does not fully disappear with numbing cream, so some soreness may remain, and if you are sensitive to pain, let us know in advance during your consultation, and we will adjust the injection speed and order.
