Juvelook Skin and Juvelook Volume in Suwon: What Differs with Particle Size?

If you are concerned about both pores and fine lines and your cheeks also look hollow, it is easy to be confused about whether Juvelook Skin or Juvelook Volume suits you. Juvelook Skin is an injectable that combines PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) with hyaluronic acid, and rather than the injected ingredients filling space, it works by stimulating the dermis so the body produces its own collagen.
Juvelook Skin and Juvelook Volume belong to the same family of ingredients, but they differ in particle size and concentration, so their injection depths and uses differ. At our Suwon clinic, we first look at your skin thickness, pores, distribution of scars, and hollow areas during the consultation, and then decide where to use Skin and where to use Volume.
This article walks through how Juvelook works, the differences among Skin, Volume, and filler, the treatment process and number of sessions, recovery and care, and side effects.
Key Points on Juvelook Skin
- Juvelook is an injectable that induces collagen to form around PDLLA particles.
- Juvelook Skin has small particles and is placed broadly in the shallow layer, while Juvelook Volume has larger particles and is placed in the deep layer.
- If surface texture is the concern, Skin is considered first; if lost volume is the concern, Volume is considered first.
- For Juvelook Skin, at least 3 sessions at 4-week intervals are recommended as one course.
How does Juvelook Skin work?
PDLLA consists of polymer particles that break down slowly in the body. Fibroblasts gather around the particles placed in the dermis and produce collagen, and after the particles are absorbed, the newly formed tissue remains in their place.
The hyaluronic acid included with it draws in moisture right after injection and keeps the skin hydrated, but it is absorbed within a few weeks. So the plumpness right after treatment and the later changes from collagen happen at different times, and the collagen changes build up gradually over several weeks.
Because of how it works, Juvelook Skin is hard to view as a treatment that is complete in one session. It is planned as a process of building up the skin's foundation by injecting it in several portions at intervals.
How do Juvelook Skin and Juvelook Volume differ?
Juvelook Volume is made of the same PDLLA and hyaluronic acid as Juvelook Skin, but its particles are slightly larger and its concentration is higher. The table below shows the criteria for dividing their uses by concern, and hyaluronic acid filler is included to show the difference in approach.
| Category | Juvelook Skin | Juvelook Volume | Hyaluronic acid filler |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ingredients and particles | PDLLA and hyaluronic acid, small particles | PDLLA and hyaluronic acid, larger particles and higher concentration | Hyaluronic acid gel |
| Injection layer | Broadly in the upper dermis | Deep dermis and subcutaneous layer | Whichever layer the hollow area needs |
| Main concerns addressed | Pores, fine lines, skin texture | Lost volume such as hollow cheeks, nasolabial folds, and temples | Hollow areas and contours |
| How volume is created | Collagen builds up gradually | Collagen fills in over 4 to 6 weeks | The injected gel fills immediately |
For thin-skinned areas like around the eyes, Juvelook Eye, made for the eye area, is used separately. When pores and hollowing occur together, areas may be divided and planned together, such as Skin for the whole face and Volume for the lower cheeks.

How is Juvelook Skin performed?
How Injection Depth Is Decided
Juvelook Skin, with its small particles, is placed thinly in portions so it spreads evenly through the upper dermis, while Juvelook Volume, with its larger particles, is placed in the deep layer to address volume. Placing large particles shallowly in thin skin can make them show through or clump, so rather than placing a lot in one spot, the product is injected in portions across multiple layers and points.
Treatment steps at our Suwon clinic
- Personalized Consultation
- Numbing Cream
- Disinfection
- Treatment
- Finishing Care
Juvelook Skin is performed for about 15 to 30 minutes after topical anesthesia, and you can return to daily life right after. Although it varies by individual, changes are typically observed starting around 2 to 3 weeks, and at least 3 sessions at 4-week intervals are recommended. Juvelook Volume proceeds in the order of a personalized consultation, photos (before treatment), topical anesthesia, design, disinfection, and treatment; after anesthetic cream is applied for 20 to 40 minutes, injection takes about 15 to 30 minutes, and at least 3 sessions at one-month intervals are generally recommended.
Treatment options are divided into 1-vial packages of 1 session and 3 sessions for both Juvelook and Juvelook Volume, and 1-session and 3-session packages of Juvelook Eye for the eye area.

Recovery and Care After Juvelook Skin and Volume
- After Juvelook Skin, avoid saunas, Korean bathhouses, and strenuous exercise for about a week, and refrain from excessive drinking or smoking.
- Apply moisturizer often, and apply sunscreen when you go out.
- After Juvelook Volume, you can wash your face and wear makeup starting 2 to 3 hours later, and the DuoDERM dressing applied to the treated area is removed after 3 days.
- After Juvelook Volume, gently massage the area for about 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for at least 5 days after treatment to reduce clumping.
- For 2 to 3 weeks, avoid pressing or stimulating the areas treated with Juvelook Volume, such as sleeping face down, facial meridian massage, and ultrasound or radiofrequency treatments.
The embossing, where needle points rise into small bumps right after injection, and the redness subside over time. We do not judge the result right after the first session; at the next session we check changes in skin texture and volume together, and the rate at which collagen builds up varies from person to person.
Juvelook side effects and precautions
After the treatment, temporary bruising, swelling, embossing, and redness may occur and gradually subside over time. With Juvelook Volume, bruising, swelling, pain, or a foreign-body sensation at the injection site mostly eases within 1 to 2 weeks.
You may feel a lumpy sensation or small nodules, and the risk increases if a large amount is injected in one spot or if it is placed too shallowly. Rarely, nerve damage, allergic reactions, or inflammation can occur, and Juvelook Volume, which is injected deep, carries risks such as skin necrosis if it blocks a blood vessel. If you have had fillers or thread procedures before, or have a chronic condition, please tell us in advance during the consultation. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an autoimmune disease, or are prone to keloids, please let us know before the treatment.
If the pain gets worse day by day, the skin turns white or dark reddish, or a hard lump keeps growing, please contact the clinic right away.
What should I check before Juvelook Skin?
If This Sounds Like You, Start with a Skin Thickness Assessment
- Enlarged pores, fine lines, and rough skin texture bother me all at once.
- My cheeks or temples are hollow, which makes my face look tired.
- My facial skin is thin, so blood vessels tend to show through.
- I recently had a filler or thread procedure in some area.
If two or more apply, before choosing between Juvelook Skin and Volume, it is best to first check whether your concern is surface texture or volume in the deeper layer. Whether to proceed, the method, and the scope are decided together in consultation after the medical team examines you.
In short, the key with Juvelook Skin and Volume is to look first at the layer where the concern lies rather than the product name, and to build up sessions at the proper intervals while checking progress.
FAQ
Q. Should I get Juvelook Skin or Volume?
A. If your concern is on the surface, such as pores, fine lines, and skin texture, we first consider Juvelook Skin; if it is lost volume, such as in the cheeks or nasolabial folds, we first consider Juvelook Volume. If both concerns are mixed, we divide the areas after an examination and plan them together.
Q. Does Juvelook Volume fill in right away like filler?
A. The plumpness right after treatment comes from hyaluronic acid and swelling and fades within a few weeks. Volume from collagen appears gradually over 4 to 6 weeks, so we split sessions at 1-month intervals and build them up while checking the changes.
Q. Does Juvelook Skin hurt a lot?
A. Because it involves many injections across the whole face, there is a stinging sensation, so we apply numbing cream before proceeding. How much pain you feel varies by area and skin condition, and areas with thin skin, such as around the eyes, can be more sensitive.
Q. When do Juvelook Skin results start to show?
A. It varies by person, but on average we start looking for changes in skin texture around 2 to 3 weeks. Since collagen forms gradually as sessions add up, we proceed with at least 3 sessions at 4-week intervals and review progress at each session.
Q. What should I do if nodules form after Juvelook?
A. The bumpy feeling right after the treatment is embossing and resolves over time. If a lump you can feel remains or grows after several weeks, visit us so we can check it, and any necessary treatment is decided after the medical team examines you.
Q. How can I find out the cost of Juvelook Skin?
A. The cost depends on the product, amount, and number of sessions. After confirming in consultation which areas will receive Skin and Volume and how much, we guide you between a 1-session and a 3-session package, and you can also check it on the treatment information page.
