Juveacell in Suwon: how is it different from Rituo, another ECM skin booster?

Juveacell in Suwon: how is it different from Rituo, another ECM skin booster?

If your skin has become thinner and rougher and, while looking into skin boosters, you are wondering how Juveacell and Rituo differ, it helps to know first that both products start from the same raw material. Juveacell is a skin booster that micronizes extracellular matrix (ECM) obtained from human acellular dermal matrix (hADM) and injects it into the dermis, and Rituo also replenishes the dermis with ECM obtained from acellular dermal matrix from which immunogenic substances have been removed.

The differences between Juveacell and Rituo lie in the process used to remove cellular components, the formulation and options, and the procedure time. Juveacell removes cellular components through a supercritical carbon dioxide process and comes in 3% and 8% formulations, and at our Suwon clinic we use the 3% formulation, which addresses skin texture and condition. At consultation, we first look at your skin thickness and previous skin booster history before deciding on the product and number of sessions.

In this article, we go through how ECM skin boosters work, the differences between Juveacell and Rituo, the treatment process, recovery and care, side effects, and what to check before the procedure.

Key points on Juveacell and Rituo

  • Juveacell and Rituo are both skin boosters that replenish the dermis with ECM obtained from acellular dermal matrix.
  • With Juveacell, changes in skin texture are looked at about 2 to 3 weeks after injection, when the ingredients integrate with the surrounding tissue.
  • With Rituo, swelling and tightness usually settle within 2 to 7 days, and skin texture and firmness are looked at over 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Both products are continued in sessions 3 to 4 weeks apart, and the number of sessions depends on how your skin responds.

How do ECM skin boosters work?

ECM (extracellular matrix) is the base material, such as collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, that fills the spaces between cells. As we age, the skin does not just lose moisture; the collagen structure that supported the dermis and the ECM itself become thinner.

If hyaluronic acid skin boosters draw in moisture, PN supports the recovery environment, and PDLLA stimulates collagen production, ECM skin boosters are closer to directly replenishing the structural components that form the base. Cellular components are removed from the raw material to reduce components that could trigger an immune response, while structural components such as collagen and elastin are preserved.

The injected ingredients take time to blend with the surrounding tissue, so neither Juveacell nor Rituo is a procedure finished in one session; skin condition is checked as sessions continue.

The process and options are differences in how the products are made, and neither one is always the right answer. We choose by looking at whether to address texture across the whole face or thin areas, how much time you can set aside for swelling and recovery, and whether you are planning it together with lifting.

How is Juveacell performed?

How the product and number of sessions are decided

ECM skin boosters are considered for skin that has grown thinner with increasing fine lines and makeup that does not sit well, or skin whose base still looks thin despite continued hyaluronic acid or PN skin boosters. Deep sagging or significant volume loss is hard to address with skin boosters alone, so lifting or filler is considered as well.

Treatment steps at our Suwon clinic

  1. We examine your skin during a consultation and determine the treatment areas and formulation (3%).
  2. The treatment area is cleansed and numbing cream is applied if needed.
  3. Using a fine needle and manual injection technique, the product is evenly delivered into the dermis.
  4. The treated area is soothed, and we guide you through aftercare.

Juveacell 3% takes about 10 to 20 minutes, and in addition to the 2cc and 4cc options, there are options combined with water drop lifting or Juvelook Skin 3cc. For Rituo, after checking skin condition, dermal thickness, and the treatment area through an examination, topical anesthesia is applied and the ECM ingredients are injected evenly into the dermis, and after soothing care, we explain aftercare such as moisturizing and sun protection.

Recovery and care after Juveacell and Rituo

  • Juveacell requires no separate recovery period for daily life, and bruising, swelling, redness, and bumps right after injection usually settle within a few days.
  • After Rituo, avoid saunas and jjimjilbang, strenuous exercise, drinking, and smoking for about a week.
  • After Juveacell as well, avoid heat stimulation such as drinking, smoking, saunas, and hot baths for a while, and take a few days off from strenuous exercise.
  • For both products, avoid scrubs, peels, and strong massage for a certain period, and keep up with sun protection and moisturizing.

Start makeup lightly depending on how much the swelling and bumps at the injection sites have settled, and do not rub the injection sites hard. Results and how long they last vary with skin condition and lifestyle.

Side effects and precautions for Juveacell and Rituo

Right after injection, bruising, swelling, redness, and bumps at the injection sites may appear, and they usually settle within a few days. With Rituo, slight swelling or tightness may continue for a few days, and the degree of reaction varies from person to person.

Rarely, inflammation may occur at the injection site, or the ingredients may gather in one spot and be felt as a small lump. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have inflammation or infection in the treatment area, whether to proceed is decided after consulting with the medical team, so please let us know before the procedure.

If swelling and redness do not ease but keep getting worse, if pus forms at the injection site or warmth and pain increase, or if a new firm lump can be felt a few weeks later, please contact the clinic right away.

What should be checked before Juveacell or Rituo?

In cases like these, first check the base of your skin

  • My skin has become thinner and fine lines have increased.
  • Even though I have kept up with other skin boosters, the base of my skin still looks weak.
  • I want to take care of my skin texture along with lifting.
  • I have an event within a few days where swelling and bumps would be a concern.

If two or more apply, it is best to check your skin thickness, previous treatment history, and how much time you can set aside for recovery before choosing a product. Whether to have the procedure, the product, and the number of sessions are decided together in consultation after the medical team examines you.

In short, Juveacell and Rituo belong to the same ECM family, so the key is first checking the condition of your skin's base and your recovery schedule before deciding on the product and number of sessions.

FAQ

Q. What is the difference between Juveacell 3% and 8%?

A. They are formulations divided by the content of acellular dermal matrix, and 3% is used as a skin booster to refine skin texture and overall skin condition. Our Suwon clinic's treatment guide uses the 3% formulation, and the treatment area and formulation are decided after checking your skin condition through an examination.

Q. When can I start to feel the effects of Juveacell?

A. About 2 to 3 weeks after injection, as the ingredients integrate with the surrounding tissue, changes in skin texture and condition can be looked at. It is generally done in several sessions 3 to 4 weeks apart, and the number of sessions and how long results last vary with skin condition and lifestyle.

Q. Can I get Thermage and Rituo on the same day?

A. Radiofrequency lifting and ECM skin boosters work differently, so they may be planned together. Whether to receive them on the same day and in what order is decided at consultation based on the degree of swelling, your upcoming schedule, and skin sensitivity, and you follow the precautions for each procedure.

Q. How long does swelling last after Rituo?

A. Slight swelling or tightness usually settles within 2 to 7 days, and skin texture and firmness are then looked at gradually over 1 to 2 weeks. For about a week after the procedure, it is best to avoid saunas and jjimjilbang, strenuous exercise, drinking, and smoking.

Q. What reactions occur after Juveacell?

A. Right after injection, bruising, swelling, redness, and bumps at the injection sites may appear, and they usually settle within a few days. Rarely, inflammation or small lumps may develop, so if the injection site becomes increasingly red and painful, please get an examination.

Q. How can I check the cost of Juveacell and Rituo?

A. The cost depends on the product, volume, number of sessions, and the package you choose. We explain the appropriate product and volume after checking your skin condition and treatment range through an examination, and you can also see the options for each product on the treatment guide page.
