InMode downtime: how many days does it take and what are the precautions?

InMode downtime is relatively short, so you can wash your face, wear makeup, and return to daily life right after treatment. However, redness and bruising may remain for a few days in areas treated with FX mode, so if you have plans where your face will be seen, such as photo shoots or presentations, it is best to allow about a week.
Why is InMode downtime short?
InMode heats the skin from within using radiofrequency energy without wounding the skin surface. There is no process of the outer skin peeling or scabbing, so there is little need to set aside days for recovery. The treatment takes about 30 minutes or less, and you can wash your face with a gentle cleanser and wear makeup right after.
However, since heat has been delivered, warmth, tingling, swelling, redness, dryness, and itching may occur briefly. These reactions usually subside soon, and applying moisturizer often reduces the tight feeling.
How does InMode downtime differ between FX and FORMA?
FX mode draws the skin into the handpiece by suction and then sends high-voltage pulses to the fat layer, so red or purple bruises may appear where the skin was suctioned. These bruises fade gradually over several days. FORMA mode heats the dermis broadly, so redness and warmth tend to remain rather than bruising, and they usually subside within a day or two.
If you are taking blood-thinning medication or supplements, or if your skin is thin and blood vessels show easily, bruising may occur more readily. Please tell us about any medications and supplements you are taking before treatment.
InMode precautions: what should you avoid for a week?
At our Suwon clinic, we advise washing your face with lukewarm water for 3 days after InMode and avoiding heavy drinking, saunas, jjimjilbang, hot baths, and strenuous exercise for about 7 days. This is because raising your body temperature can make swelling and redness last longer. Apply sunscreen when going outside, and reapply moisturizer often if you feel dry.
If a bruise keeps getting bigger day by day, if the area swells up hard and hurts, or if warmth does not decrease after several days, it may differ from a normal recovery reaction, so please contact the clinic.

FAQ
Q. Can I go to work the day after InMode?
A. With InMode, you can wash your face and wear makeup right after treatment, so it has little effect on going to work the next day. If bruising appears under the jaw or on the cheeks where FX was applied, it may remain for several days, so it is best to allow about a week before important events where your face will be seen.
Q. When can I start exercising during InMode downtime?
A. Light walking is fine even on the day of treatment, and the standard is to take about 7 days off from strenuous exercise that makes you sweat heavily. This is because raising your body temperature through exercise can make swelling and redness last longer, and saunas and hot baths are also avoided for the same period.
Q. What should I do if my skin is dry and itchy after InMode?
A. Skin that has received heat may temporarily lose moisture and feel tight or itchy. Apply moisturizer often, wash your face with lukewarm water for 3 days, and instead of scratching, cool the area; it usually subsides. If a red rash spreads, please contact us.
