Density treatment cycle: how many weeks apart and how many sessions are right?

Density treatment cycle: how many weeks apart and how many sessions are right?

The Density cycle is considered one course of 3 or more sessions at 1 to 2 month intervals. Because it is a treatment that heats the dermis with radiofrequency to guide collagen regeneration, building up divided sessions makes it easier to assess the skin's condition than a change made all at once. After completing the course, the next timing is decided by watching for when skin thickness and elasticity start to decline again.

Why the Density cycle is set at 1 to 2 months

Density is a device that delivers heat to the dermis with radiofrequency energy to contract collagen and then guide new collagen production over several weeks. Time is needed for the heated tissue to recover and for collagen to build up, so the next session is scheduled 1 to 2 months later.

If the interval is too short, heat is delivered again before the changes from the previous session have settled, which can make redness and dryness last longer. Conversely, if the interval is too long, it becomes hard to follow the changes between sessions.

How does the Density cycle vary from person to person?

At our Suwon clinic, we advise doing Density 3 or more times at 1 to 2 month intervals, taking skin condition and individual differences into account, and we offer Density Alpha and Density High in 300-shot and 600-shot packages. The treatment takes about 30 minutes in total.

If your skin is thin and loses elasticity quickly, we set the interval closer to one month, and if sagging is mild and the goal is maintenance, closer to two months. After completing the course, we compare with pre-treatment photos and decide the next timing when fine lines and the jawline start to blur again.

When getting Density together with other lifting treatments

Density acts on the dermis, so it addresses a different layer from ultrasound lifting, which reaches the fascial layer. That is why the two are sometimes done together on the same day or inserted between Density sessions. If heat overlaps in the same spot, swelling and redness may last longer, so we decide the interval based on skin response and your schedule.

You can wash your face and wear makeup right after treatment, and wash with lukewarm water for 3 days. Warmth, swelling, redness, and dryness soon subside, and for about 7 days avoid heavy drinking, saunas, hot baths, and strenuous exercise. If blisters form or redness does not decrease after several days, please contact the clinic.

FAQ

Q. Can I get Density twice a month?

A. Time is needed for the heated dermis to recover and for collagen to build up, so the guideline is an interval of 1 to 2 months. Repeating at short intervals can make redness and dryness last longer, so it is better to set a number of sessions and continue them rather than shortening the interval.

Q. After completing 3 Density sessions, when should I get it again?

A. After completing the course, the timing is decided by skin condition rather than a fixed date. Comparing with pre-treatment photos under the same lighting, we consider the next treatment when fine lines and the jawline start to blur again, and the number of shots and tip are decided based on skin thickness at that time.

Q. Do Density and Thermage have different cycles?

A. Density is set as one course of 3 or more sessions at 1 to 2 month intervals, while for Thermage FLX, maintenance treatment about once a year is considered. The devices and tip configurations differ, so the way they are planned differs, and we decide in consultation according to skin thickness and your schedule.
