Salivary gland Botox

What is this treatment?

The salivary glands — including the submandibular and parotid glands — produce saliva. When these glands become enlarged, the face can look wider or the jawline can appear fuller. Salivary gland Botox reduces the size of these enlarged glands, helping refine the facial contour and create a slimmer-looking face.

Q&A

Q.

When can I see results after the procedure?

It varies depending on each person's condition, but muscle volume usually starts to decrease gradually from about two weeks after the treatment, and within an average of one to two months you can expect an enlarged face to look smaller.

Q.

Where are the salivary glands located?

The salivary glands are not concentrated in only one place. They are located in two areas, the parotid gland that bulges below the ear and the submandibular gland that bulges on both sides under the jaw, so at first glance they are easily mistaken for fat. At FACEFILTER, salivary gland Botox reduces the size of the salivary glands, so you can expect an improvement in a wide and uneven facial line.

Q.

What is the difference between jaw Botox and contouring injections?

When the salivary glands become enlarged, the face can look square-jawed or fuller, so some people consider masseter Botox, facial liposuction or contouring injections in the hope of a slimmer face line. However, when enlarged salivary glands are the cause, those treatments are unlikely to help and may even work against you, so we reduce the salivary glands with salivary gland Botox to create a slimmer face.

What should I keep in mind?

warning

Please read the precautions carefully and follow them closely.

-

You may wash your face and apply makeup 2–3 hours after the treatment.

-

For 3–7 days after the treatment, please avoid heavy drinking, smoking, saunas and steam rooms, hot baths, and strenuous exercise to prevent inflammation.

-

Avoid rubbing or irritating the treated area (please avoid deep massages or meridian massage for one month).

-

Inducing vomiting after the treatment can shorten how long the Botox lasts and cause pain, so it is best avoided.

-

You may feel some stiffness in the treated area after the procedure, but this is temporary and no cause for concern.

-

As an injectable treatment, mild bruising and swelling may occur depending on your skin condition, but these subside quickly.
