Types of fat-dissolving injections: how are they divided by ingredient and area?

Types of fat-dissolving injections are divided by the ingredients used and the area injected. Typical examples are injections for facial contouring, injections for the nasal ala, deoxycholic acid injections for fat under the chin, and injections for large body areas such as the upper arms and abdomen, and each type differs in the number of sessions, intervals, and post-treatment swelling. The criterion for choosing is where the fat is and how much there is.
How are fat-dissolving injections divided by ingredient?
One approach mixes several drugs that help reduce fat and injects them into the fat layer. These are commonly called contouring injections or sculpting injections, and they work to promote fat breakdown over 2 to 3 weeks after treatment. Some products also contain steroids, so if you have experienced menstrual cycle changes or flushing before, it is good to check the ingredients in advance.
The other is deoxycholic acid. It is an ingredient that emulsifies fat and destroys fat cells, and it is used in injectables approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for improving fat under the chin. Because its action is strong, swelling may last more than a week.
How do fat-dissolving injections differ by area?
At our Suwon clinic, we use steroid-free Face Fit (GPC) injections for facial contouring with 3 or more sessions at 1 to 2 week intervals, nose sculpting (GPC) injections for the nasal ala with 3 or more sessions at 2 to 3 week intervals, deoxycholic acid (DCA) under the chin with 2 to 3 or more sessions at 4-week intervals, and Body GPC injections for the body with at least 4 sessions at one-week intervals per area.
Because the body has a large area and requires a larger amount of product, dizziness, headache, palpitations, or nausea may occur on the day of treatment. That is why we avoid treating on an empty stomach and perform the treatment after you have eaten at least a light meal.
Care and precautions after fat-dissolving injections
For facial contouring injections and nose sculpting injections, gently massage for about 3 minutes, 3 times a day, for at least 3 days so the ingredients spread evenly. After body injections, drink plenty of water so the broken-down fat can be eliminated. With any type, avoid heavy drinking, smoking, saunas, and strenuous exercise for a few days after treatment.
Bruising, swelling, pain, and a foreign-body sensation mostly ease within 1 to 2 weeks. If warmth accompanied by itching persists or the swelling gradually increases, please contact the clinic. If you have high blood pressure or are taking any medications, please let us know before treatment.

FAQ
Q. Which type of fat-dissolving injection is used for a double chin?
A. For fat under the chin, we use deoxycholic acid injections or sometimes contouring injections. With deoxycholic acid, changes are assessed from one month after treatment and it is done 2 to 3 times at 4-week intervals, and since swelling may last more than a week, we take your schedule into account as well.
Q. What is different about steroid-free fat-dissolving injections?
A. They are formulated without steroids to reduce discomfort such as menstrual cycle changes, irregular bleeding, or flushing that occurred with some products. If you experienced these reactions after previous contouring injections, please tell us during consultation so we can check the ingredients together.
Q. Will fat-dissolving injections also reduce my body weight?
A. Fat-dissolving injections reduce fat in localized areas to refine contours, so body weight does not drop noticeably. If you have a lot of body fat overall, combining diet control and exercise may help maintain the change.
